The Latin American Body

This course aims to address and complicate the body as a category and material of representation in Latin American culture in the 20th and 21st centuries. Through novels, short stories, movies, and performances, we will analyze how the body is thought of and written from diverse embodiments that defy the hegemonic construction of the body, such as bodies with disabilities, plus size, sick, or racialized bodies.
