The Illinois Club has recognized the contributions of two students majoring in Spanish, Emily Boehm (BAT) and Mathew Schultz.   

Emily was the recipient of the Isabelle Purnell Education Award, which is open to those earning a Secondary Education Certificate or College of Education majors. Applicants must demonstrate how they hope to make a difference in the classroom and in students' lives. Mathew received the Humanities Award, which is open to all students majoring or minoring in the Humanities. Applicants must demonstrate the benefits that studying the Humanities provide to themselves and their community.

The Illinois Club is a social and philanthropic organization that has been affiliated with the University since 1906.
