Biography
I was born in Bilbao, but as my grandparents were from León I spent all my summers there. I did my undergraduate in Art History at the Public University of the Basque Country, where I specialized in Modern Era Iconography.Once I finished my degree, I went to Scotland where I worked in PGL. In Scotland, I started to think that I would like to have a Masters, so I came back to Bilbao where I earnt my MA in Second and High School Education. I did my internship for that master at Gaztelueta School. Meanwhile, I was told about the opportunity to come to the U.S. for another master (Literature), and I went to Ilinois State University for a year and then I transferred to UIUC.
Research Interests
I am interested on the way that the Spanish Black Legend is being used by the popular imaginary. I am also interested on how different political parties read history in order to gain a popular base.
